DHA LEVEL UP to BE GREAT this year!!

Greetings, DHA families!

With a happy heart, loads of enthusiasm, and gratitude, I write this letter to welcome you all to the 25-26 school year at Druid Hills Academy, home of the Panthers!  While I admit that summer has been quite wonderful, I also admit I am excited and ready to have noise in the hallway, kids in the classrooms, and parents at our events!  Entering my third year as your principal, advocate, and leader, I can say with confidence that we have and will continue to serve your children with HIGH standards, accountability, and LOVE.  

As of August 8th, we are fully staffed and ready to open the doors for a new journey of excellence, education, character building, and JOY in learning.  We do have some changes to our administrative team.  Ms. Jessica Farr is our new Assistant Principal, and Ms. Maria Hawthorne is our new Dean of Students.  They will both be wonderful additions to the DHA staff.  Mr. Muhammad was such an awesome blessing last year, but has moved on to a new school in CMS.  Ms. Baldwin was an amazing Dean of Students, and she has moved on to an Assistant Principal at a new school this year.  Their impact on all of us will last a lifetime. I am extremely grateful for both of them and wish them the very best in their new endeavors.
I am honored to serve as your Principal.  I promise to do my very best to meet all the needs of our children!  Every child deserves equity, choice and opportunity.  I look forward to the friendships, the fellowship, and the new  journey as we LEVEL UP to BE GREAT this year!!

Les escribo esta carta con un corazón lleno de alegría, con mucho entusiasmo y gratitud para darles la bienvenida al año escolar 25-26 en Druid Hills Academy, la casa de los Panthers!  Aunque reconozco que el verano ha sido maravilloso, también admito que estoy emocionada y lista para tener ruido en los pasillos, niños en los salones de clase y padres atendiendo nuestros eventos. Al comenzar mi tercer año como directora, defensora y líder, puedo decir con confianza que hemos servido y seguiremos sirviendo a sus hijos con ALTOS estándares, responsabilidad y AMOR. A partir del 8 de agosto, contaremos con todo el personal necesario y estamos listos para abrir las puertas a una nueva etapa de excelencia, educación, formación del carácter y ALEGRÍA en el aprendizaje.  Hemos realizado algunos cambios en nuestro equipo administrativo.  La Sra. Jessica Farr es nuestra nueva subdirectora y la Sra. Maria Hawthorne es nuestra nueva decana de estudiantes. Ambas serán incorporaciones maravillosas al personal de DHA. El Sr. Muhammad fue una bendición increíble el año pasado, pero se ha trasladado a una nueva escuela en CMS. La Sra. Baldwin fue una decana de estudiantes increíble y este año ha pasado a ser subdirectora en una nueva escuela.  Su influencia en todos nosotros perdurará toda la vida. Estoy muy agradecido a ambos y les deseo lo mejor en sus nuevos proyectos.

Es un honor para mí ser su directora.  ¡Prometo hacer todo lo posible para satisfacer todas las necesidades de nuestros niños!  Todos los niños merecen igualdad, opciones y oportunidades.  Espero con mucho optimismo las nuevas amistades, el compañerismo y la nueva aventura que nos espera este año, en el que vamos a AVANZAR HACIA LA EXCELENCIA!!
